Gerald A. Swaye, Q.C., C.S.
Called to the Ontario Bar in 1964, Gerry started his own firm in 1982. He was certified as a Specialist in Civil Litigation by the Law Society of Upper Canada in 1988. His practice has focused primarily on bodily injury and insurance.
Gerry has served the law community as a bencher of The Law Society of Upper Canada since 1995. Gerry has been very involved with his community, having been a board member and past director of a number of organizations, including the SPCA, Beth Jacob Synagogue, Hamilton Jewish Foundation and the YMCA.
Gerry has been voted by his peers in The Best Lawyers in Canada in insurance law, personal injury litigation and product liability law, since 2011.
Gerry has been married to his wife since 1969 and has four grown children and two grandchildren.
Jeffery R. Crannie, B.A., LL.B.
Jeff received his undergraduate degree in psychology and his law degree from the University of Western Ontario. He was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2002.
Since that time, he has focused his practice on personal injury and insurance matters. In particular, he has significant experience dealing with automobile accidents, slip and fall cases and property claims.
Jeff has experience before all levels of court in Ontario, as well as appearing before numerous specialized tribunals including the LAT, which regulates disputes between insurers and their clients.
Jeff is a Director for the Brain Injury Services Foundation. This organization raises money to support programs for people who have acquired brain injuries. He is also an active member of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, the Hamilton Law Association, and the Hamilton Medical Legal Society.
Jeff has been Certified as a Specialist in Civil Litigation by the Law Society of Ontario, the governing body for lawyers in Ontario. This peer reviewed Certification is a badge of distinction within the profession.
Jesse R. Boyd, B.Sc., J.D.
Jesse Boyd received a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of British Columbia before obtaining his law degree (J.D.) from Osgoode Hall Law School. During university Jesse played varsity hockey for the UBC Thunderbirds and York University Lions, achieving the distinctions of Academic All-Canadian and the Dean's List. He worked as a laboratory technician, and also volunteered his time with several legal clinics, including helping individuals with business, family, estate, tax, and criminal law matters. While articling at a large full-service law firm Jesse began to specialize in civil litigation, with an emphasis on personal injury and insurance law. Since his call to the bar he has successfully argued matters at the Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Appeal.
Logan R. Schroeder, B.A., J.D.
Logan attended McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario from 2003 to 2007, where he completed an honours bachelor of arts degree in peace studies and political science. He continued his education at Queen’s University Faculty of Law, where he obtained his J.D. in 2011.Logan was called to the Bar in 2012.
Logan completed his articles with a full-service firm in Kingston, Ontario, during which time he gravitated towards insurance litigation.
Logan returned to Hamilton and joined Swaye Crannie Boyd LLP in May 2013, where he continues to practise primarily in the area of insurance and personal injury litigation.
Logan is a member of the Ontario Bar Association, Canadian Bar Association, and Hamilton Law Association.
